The spirit of unity, commitment, and appreciation continues to sweep across the Akuapem North Constituency as the October of Gratitude program enters its Phase Four. On this day, the Constituency Chairman, Hon. Daniel Awere, together with his dynamic and dedicated constituency executives, led the “train” to the Otwetiri-Kokoomu Ward for an engaging and fruitful interaction with the branch executives and party members.
This special outreach initiative, dubbed October of Gratitude, is designed to express appreciation to the hardworking ward and branch executives for their tireless contributions towards the growth and success of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Akuapem North. It also provides a platform to strengthen bonds between the constituency leadership and the grassroots, discuss local challenges, and re-strategize for the journey ahead as the NDC continues to build momentum toward the 2028 general elections.
Among the key executives who joined Chairman Daniel Awere on this important visit were:
- Hon. John Evans Kumordzi, MCE for Akuapem North
- Isaac Batsa Hamillin, Constituency Secretary
- Banahene, Treasurer
- Kingsford Kalefe, Deputy Treasurer
- Ahmed Agbenyadzi, Youth Organiser
- Oduro Junior, Deputy Youth Organiser
- Matthew Antwi, Deputy Organiser
- And other committed party stalwarts including Ademu, Gideon Owusu, Hayford, among others.
At Otwetiri-Kokoomu, the team was warmly received by the ward executives, who expressed deep appreciation to the constituency leadership for taking the time to visit and listen to their concerns. The discussions were highly engaging, focusing on membership mobilization, effective communication, resource allocation, and strategies for strengthening the NDC’s base structures to ensure a resounding victory in future elections.
Chairman Daniel Awere, in his address, commended the ward and branch executives for their unwavering dedication and resilience in keeping the NDC flag flying high despite the challenges. He emphasized that the October of Gratitude initiative is not merely a routine visitation, but a movement aimed at rekindling unity, service, and teamwork among party members at all levels.
“Every branch matters, every ward matters, and every member counts,”
— Chairman Daniel Awere
He reiterated the constituency leadership’s commitment to maintaining close contact with the grassroots through ongoing visits, training, and collaborative activities that will empower members and strengthen the NDC’s presence in every community.
Following the successful engagement at Otwetiri-Kokoomu Ward, the energetic team proceeded to the Kwamoso Ward, where yet another interactive meeting took place. The Kwamoso branch executives shared thoughtful ideas on how to enhance the party’s outreach efforts and deepen support within the ward. The energy and enthusiasm displayed by the members reflected the true spirit of the NDC — unity in diversity and a collective drive for progress.
A special moment of the day occurred when the Kwamoso Ward, representing the entire zone, honoured the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. John Evans Kumordzi, with a beautifully designed citation plaque. The presentation was in recognition of his appointment and successful affirmation into office as the MCE for Akuapem North. The gesture was a heartfelt expression of gratitude and solidarity from the ward and its members, acknowledging his dedication, humility, and service to the people.
The MCE, visibly touched by the honour, expressed his appreciation to the zonal executives for the recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with all party structures to ensure development across the municipality and to uphold the values of the NDC through service, inclusiveness, and accountability.
As the October of Gratitude continues, the Akuapem North leadership is poised to sustain the momentum. The next stop of the train will be at Mampong, Tutu, and Obosomase on Saturday, 11th October 2025. The leadership is calling on all branch and ward executives in those areas to prepare for another inspiring and engaging encounter aimed at fostering teamwork, motivation, and unity within the NDC family.
The Akuapem North NDC remains strong, united, and forward-looking — ready to work tirelessly at the grassroots level to ensure victory for the party in the upcoming elections.
