“Hearts of the Market: Hon. John Evans Kumordzi and the NDC Women’s Wing Spark Hope in Adawso”

In a display of unity and unwavering commitment, the Akuapem North Women’s Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led a heartfelt and strategic outreach on Friday, 15th November 2024, that resonated deeply with the people of Adawso. The vibrant market came alive as Hon. John Evans Kumordzi, the incoming Member of Parliament for the Akropong Constituency, walked hand-in-hand with the powerful and passionate Women’s Wing through stalls and alleys, greeting vendors and sharing the vision of a brighter future under the NDC.




The Adawso market hummed with an energy that was both emotional and electric. As Kumordzi met with women, their warm smiles and hopeful eyes painted a clear picture — a picture of a community ready for change and eager to rally behind a leader who listens, understands, and inspires. This was more than a campaign visit; it was a symbolic embrace, a meeting of hearts where the aspirations of the market women were validated by Kumordzi’s promises of progress.


Accompanying this successful outreach were notable figures: the diligent Deputy Women’s Organiser, Praise Ababio Fiati; the ever-organized Constituency Organiser, Ernest Adom Dikoh; the vibrant Youth Organiser, Hon. Ahmed Agbenyadzi; and the respected former Constituency Chairman, Daniel Offei, Regional Artisans Coordinator, Vincent Opoku Sarkodie among other dedicated constituency executives. Their presence emphasized the importance of the market visit and signaled a unified front committed to championing the NDC’s cause.




As the sun cast its golden glow over the market, the atmosphere transformed from one of ordinary trading to one of extraordinary hope. The voices of the Women’s Wing, with their impassioned appeals and confident assurance in the NDC’s plans, found a willing audience. The women of Adawso, many of whom manage households and contribute significantly to the local economy, listened intently, nodding in agreement and raising their voices in chants of solidarity.


The program concluded at the market station where Kumordzi, joined by his dedicated team, addressed a gathered crowd of eager supporters. With sincerity and conviction, they spoke of the need for unity and the power of collective action, urging the community to choose change on 7th December 2024. Applause erupted as the message of hope and progress echoed through the station, reinforcing the belief that the winds of change were indeed sweeping through Adawso.


It was a day that showcased the strength and ingenuity of the Women’s Wing, whose brilliant initiative reminded everyone that real power lies in connecting with the people. The NDC’s campaign in Akuapem North continues to capture hearts, and the spirit of Adawso’s women has undoubtedly set the stage for what promises to be a historic vote.

Isaac Amartey, a committed member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),   made a significant donation to the Akuapem North Constituency.
