Hon. Ahmmed Agbenyadzi Sets a New Precedent in Otwetiri and Akokoa Township

In a groundbreaking move that may very well redefine political engagements in local communities, Hon. Ahmmed Agbenyadzi, an aspiring assemblyman, along with his unit committee aspirants, recently visited the elders of Otwetiri township. This visit wasn’t merely a courtesy call. It was a conscious effort to introduce themselves and present their vision for the township.

The elders of Otwetiri, who have seen many election cycles, were deeply impressed by this gesture. According to them, Hon. Ahmmed has set a benchmark, becoming the first assemblyman aspirant to approach them with such humility and respect. For these elders, the interaction signaled a shift in political culture and an emphasis on deep-rooted values.

In keeping with the customs and traditions of Otwetiri, Hon. Ahmmed did not arrive empty-handed. He presented the elders with a bottle of schnapps, a bottle of hard drink, a pack of soft drinks, and a monetary token. More than the material gifts, it was the spirit of cooperation and desire to engage meaningfully with the elders that left a lasting impact.

In a solemn ceremony, the elders of Otwetiri poured libation, invoking the blessings of the gods of the land. They pleaded with these deities to guide and grant victory to Hon. Ahmmed and his team in the forthcoming elections.

Continuing their engagement drive, Hon. Ahmmed and his team later visited the elders of Akokoa, where they made similar presentations. The Akokoa elders, having heard of the aspirant's earlier visit to Otwetiri, echoed similar sentiments of support. They expressed appreciation for Hon. Ahmmed's initiative and assured him of their wholehearted support.

In both townships, a common thread emerged – the value of respect, tradition, and genuine engagement in politics. With these visits, Hon. Ahmmed Agbenyadzi has not only presented his vision for the assembly but has also underscored the importance of local traditions and values in governance. It remains to be seen how these engagements will influence the elections, but one thing is clear – the political landscape in these townships is witnessing a refreshing change.
