Yesterday, 11th August 2024, the Centenary Chapel at the Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong (PCE), was set ablaze by the electrifying energy and passion of the students during a much-anticipated crusade organized by the youth wing of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN). This significant event drew a remarkable turnout, attracting the constituency body of the NDC in Akuapem North.

The event, which quickly became the talk of the town, saw the participation of several distinguished personalities. The presence of the Parliamentary Candidate, John Evans Komordzi, and the Constituency Chairman, Daniel Awere, along with Deputy Women’s Organizer Praise Ababio Fiati, Deputy Eastern Regional Youth Organizer Fohad Agyenadzi, Constituency Organizer Ernest Adom Dikoh, and his deputy, Kudjo Vi, underscored the importance of the occasion. Also in attendance were Communication Officer Bawa Aminu Sumaila, his deputy Jacob Ganyo, and the mastermind behind the program, Youth Organizer Ahmmed Agbenyadzi, along with several other NDC executives.

Hon. Ahmmed Agbenyadzi delivered a powerful address, focusing on the proposed youth ministry department, a promising initiative by John Dramani Mahama, the NDC's Flagbearer for the upcoming December 7th general elections. This department, he emphasized, aims to address the unique needs and challenges facing the youth, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are met. Agbenyadzi’s speech resonated deeply with the audience, particularly as it tied into the broader agenda of national development.

A key highlight of the event was the discussion on the 24-hour economy policy. This policy, which has garnered significant attention, was thoroughly explained by the dignitaries, who engaged the students in discussions about its potential to revitalize the economy. They explained that the policy is designed to create continuous economic activity around the clock, thereby boosting productivity, creating jobs, and fostering economic growth.

The high turnout was a testament to the enthusiasm and interest the youth have in shaping their future. The lively interactions between the dignitaries and the students created an atmosphere of hope and determination, as they collectively envisioned a better future for the nation.

In conclusion, the success of this event highlights the importance of such programs in empowering the youth and fostering a sense of community and purpose. More of such programs should be encouraged and supported, as they play a crucial role in shaping the future leaders of our country.
