By Edwin Kobina Amoquandoh
The Akropong Communications Bureau, under the leadership of Bawa Aminu Sumaila, has taken a significant step forward in its efforts to foster community engagement in Akuapem North. As part of their preparations for an upcoming event in Yensiso, the Bureau recently met with Nana Kwame Opoku Afrieyie I, the Odikuro of Yensiso, to seek his permission and blessings for the initiative.
The meeting, held in Yensiso, was attended by several prominent figures, including Hon. John Evans Kumordzi, the incoming Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Mama Augustina Nortey, Barnabas, and key branch executives from Yensiso. These included the branch chairman, Alato, the women's organizer, Helena Afrieyie, the communication officer, Kofi NDC, and the youth organizer, Samuel.
The delegation, guided by the local branch executives, was warmly received by the Odikuro and other elders of the community. In keeping with tradition, the visit included the pouring of libation, a symbolic act to honor the ancestors and seek their favor for the upcoming event.
During the meeting, the Akropong Communications Bureau formally informed the elders about the planned community engagement scheduled for Sunday, 8th September 2024, at 5:00 PM. The event, which is part of the Bureau's *Akuapem Must Know* series, aims to bring the community together for an evening of discussion and interaction.
With the blessings of the Odikuro and the clearance of all necessary traditions, the stage is set for a memorable gathering in Yensiso. This event promises to be a significant moment for the community, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
All roads now lead to Yensiso this Sunday. You can't afford to miss this important gathering! We look forward to seeing you there.
