In an uplifting display of solidarity, Lucy Baah Okwan, the Korkormu women’s organizer affectionately known as Fati, welcomed H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s sister, Florence Abiba Mahama, and her delegation which included Dr. Eric Adane , a Branch Chairman in Tuibleoo South of the Ledzekuku Constituency to the vibrant community of Korkormu in the Akuapem North Constituency. The visit, which took place on Friday, 11th October 2024, was part of the preparations for the much-anticipated constituency Victory Walk and the Official Campaign Launch scheduled for the following day.
Florence Abeba Mahama, alongside her delegation, arrived in Korkormu with a heart full of hope and hands full of generosity. As a sign of the Mahama family’s deep commitment to the constituency, she donated a variety of party paraphernalia, including caps, T-shirts, and other campaign materials, to the enthusiastic crowd gathered to receive her.
Speaking to the people of Korkormu, Florence expressed her gratitude for their unwavering support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and her brother, John Dramani Mahama. She urged them to continue working hard in the lead-up to the elections, emphasizing that every little effort counts. "Together, we can ensure that JDM returns to power come January 7, 2025," she said, with a heartfelt plea for unity and perseverance.
The visit was more than just a distribution of items; it was a call to action for the people of Korkormu to rally behind the NDC’s vision for a better Ghana. Florence assured the attendees that the Mahama family and the NDC would continue to support the township, just as they have always done, in their shared goal of bringing about meaningful change in the lives of Ghanaians.
As the sun set on that hopeful Friday, the spirit of the community was renewed, with Florence’s words echoing in the hearts of all who attended. Korkormu stands ready for tomorrow’s Victory Walk, filled with the determination to see John Dramani Mahama sworn in as president once again in January 2025.
The future is bright, and with the dedication of individuals like Florence Abeba Mahama, victory for the NDC feels closer than ever.
