Florence Abiba Mahama Returns to Korkormu to Fortify Grassroots Support for the NDC

Florence Abiba Mahama, the sister of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, made a significant stop at Korkormu in the Akuapem North Constituency as part of her ongoing efforts to strengthen the grassroots foundation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This visit was a follow-up to her previous engagement in the area, where she had donated party paraphernalia, including scarves, T-shirts, and caps, to energize party loyalists and rally support for her brother ahead of the December 7th elections.



The purpose of this recent visit was twofold: to assess the readiness of the community to vote massively for the NDC and to educate them on proper voting procedures to minimize spoiled ballots. During her interaction, Florence emphasized the importance of vigilance and precision on election day, encouraging residents to vote correctly to ensure their voices count.



In a gesture that further solidified her connection with the community, Florence donated additional T-shirts and provided a cash donation to support local efforts. Her dedication to addressing grassroots concerns was evident as she took time to listen to the grievances of the Gari Women’s Association, led by its president, Madam Fati.


The women shared their plea for support in transitioning from traditional clay stoves to modernized stoves for cassava processing, a move they believe will enhance efficiency and improve their livelihoods. Florence assured them that their concerns would be relayed to the appropriate channels, underscoring the NDC’s commitment to empowering small-scale businesses and women-led initiatives.


Accompanying Florence on this impactful visit was her sister, Grace Boatemaa, whose presence further highlighted the Mahama family’s dedication to grassroots engagement. Together, they demonstrated that victory is achieved not only through large rallies but also through personal interactions and addressing the needs of everyday citizens.


Florence’s follow-up visit reflects the NDC’s strategic focus on consolidating support at the community level. Her efforts resonate with the party’s belief in inclusivity and grassroots empowerment, laying a solid foundation for victory come December 7th.
