Dr. Naana Boadiwa Daaku Leads Education-Focused Development Drive in Upper West Akyim

 By Edwin Kobina Amoquandoh

Today, Thursday, 22nd January 2026, the incoming Deputy Women Organizer, Dr. Naana Boadiwa Daaku, demonstrated purposeful and people-centered leadership as she joined the Member of Parliament for the Upper West Akyim Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Drah, on a working visit to inspect and commission critical educational infrastructure projects across the constituency.

At exactly 10:00 a.m., the delegation inspected the ongoing construction of an 18-unit classroom block at Adeiso Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC–Adeiso). The visit formed part of efforts to ensure the timely completion of educational projects aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes. Dr. Naana Boadiwa Daaku, the MP, and their team were warmly received by the school authorities, together with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Rebecca Chissah, and constituency officers of Upper West Akyim.

In addition to the classroom block, the delegation assessed ongoing and planned renovation works on the school’s assembly hall, dining hall complex, and girls’ dormitory, all geared toward enhancing student welfare and providing a safe, dignified, and supportive learning environment.

Immediately after the inspection at PRESEC–Adeiso, the team proceeded to Asukyerema Achiase, within the Upper West Akyim Constituency, for a sod-cutting ceremony to officially commence the construction of a new six-unit classroom block with a 12-seater toilet facility. The project site, a newly cleared piece of land, has been earmarked for the establishment of a basic school to serve the educational needs of the good people of Achiase—an intervention expected to expand access to basic education in the area.

The Final stop of the day was at the Presbyterian Junior High School, where another sod-cutting ceremony was performed for the construction of a six-unit classroom block with a 12-seater toilet facility. This project is anticipated to significantly reduce overcrowding and improve sanitation standards for pupils.

The day’s activities covered the following key interventions:

  • Inspection of a stalled 18-unit classroom block at PRESEC–Adeiso
  • Construction of a new six-unit classroom block with a 12-seater toilet facility for Adeiso Presbyterian JHS
  • Construction of a new six-unit classroom block with a 12-seater toilet facility at Asukyerema–Achiase

Dr. Naana Boadiwa Daaku’s active participation throughout the exercise highlighted her strong commitment to education, grassroots development, and inclusive leadership. Her presence alongside the MP, the DCE, and constituency officers reflects a united and results-oriented approach to governance—one that prioritizes the future of children and communities across Upper West Akyim.

Through such deliberate actions and collaborative leadership, Dr. Naana Boadiwa Daaku continues to position herself as a dedicated advocate for development, equity, and sustainable progress within the constituency.
