As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prepares for its upcoming branch elections, a passionate call has been made for increased female participation across all levels of the process. Dr. Naana Boadiwa Daaku, an aspirant for the Eastern Regional Women Organiser position, has urged women nationwide to actively engage in the ongoing nomination and election activities.

The nomination forms, which are currently being picked from 2nd May to 16th May 2026, mark the beginning of a crucial phase in the party’s internal democratic process. This will be followed by the branch elections scheduled to take place between 20th May and 30th June 2026.

Dr. Naana Boadiwa Daaku emphasized that women must seize this opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the party’s growth and governance structures. According to her, women should not limit themselves to traditional roles such as the Women Organizer position but should confidently contest for a wide range of leadership positions within the party.

She highlighted key positions available for contest, including Branch Chairperson, Secretary, Organizer, Women Organiser, Youth Organiser, Communication Officer, Treasurer, and the two Executive Members. She further encouraged women to step forward and offer themselves for roles such as Communications Officer and other executive responsibilities within the branch structure.

Women are capable of holding any position within the party structure. It is time for us to step forward in our numbers and demonstrate our competence, leadership, and commitment to the ideals of the NDC,” she stated.

Highlighting the party’s longstanding commitment to gender inclusivity, Dr. Naana noted that women empowerment remains a core value of the NDC. She pointed to the historic achievement of having a female Vice President as a testament to the party’s dedication to promoting women into top leadership roles.

Her message resonates strongly at a time when inclusive governance and gender balance are increasingly recognized as essential to sustainable political development. By encouraging women to actively participate in the nomination and election processes, Dr. Naana seeks to strengthen the voice and influence of women within the party.

As an aspirant for the Eastern Regional Women Organiser position, Dr. Naana Boadiwa Daaku brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication. She has expressed her readiness to leverage her expertise to advance the welfare and organizational strength of the party in the region.

Her candidacy represents not only a personal ambition but also a broader vision of empowering women and enhancing their role in shaping the future of the NDC.

With the election period fast approaching, her call serves as both a rallying message and a reminder that the active participation of women is essential to building a stronger, more inclusive political party.
